National Cheese Pizza Day is celebrated on September 5. It is a holiday dedicated to one type of pizza cheese with tomato sauce. This is one of the most popular types of pizza available. You can celebrate by ordering a cheese pizza from your local pizza restaurant or making your own version at home.


You can buy a frozen pizza crust at the supermarket or premade dough and add your own cheese and sauce. You will have to roll out the dough on the premade dough and decide on the size you want to make. There are many different brands of tomato sauce and different cheeses to try if you want to make a new version.

These are easy recipes all you have to add are olive oil, tomato sauce and cheese.


You will need a baking pan, parchment paper, spoon, pastry brush, measuring cup, measuring spoons, rolling pin, spatula, and pizza cutter.

Easy Cheese Pizza with Parmesan Cheese and Tomato Sauce


1 frozen pizza crust or 2 lb. bag of premade pizza dough

Several tablespoons of canned or jarred tomato sauce

1 bag of fresh parmesan cheese grated from the deli

1 or 2 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil

2 tablespoons of flour when rolling out dough


Directions


Frozen Pizza Crust


When using frozen pizza crust let it defrost for 15 to 20 minutes. Add olive oil to the crust and rub it in over surface using a paper towel or brush. Add several tablespoons of tomato sauce to cover the surface evenly and add the grated parmesan cheese evenly over the entire surface. Bake in the oven on parchment paper on the pan at 350 degrees according to package directions. Most frozen pizzas take 20 to 30 minutes to bake. Serves 4


Premade Dough


Cut the dough in half and put on parchment paper. Add oil to the dough and sprinkle with flour. Press the dough flat into a circle and with the rolling pin roll out the dough as flat as you can. Add olive oil and rub it into the dough evenly. Using a spoon add several tablespoons of tomato sauce to cover the dough. Sprinkle with grated Parmesan cheese. Bake in the oven at 350 degrees for 30 minutes. Serves 4
